Although Teignmouth is thought of as a South Devon holiday resort it has also been a major port in this part of the world for the last three hundred years.

It exports ball clay mined locally in Kingsteignton; imports include animal feed, fertilizer, timber, building material, stone and coal.

The picture shows one bulk carrier being guided into port by the pilot, whilst another moves in the opposite direction out to sea.  This was taken from the balcony of our chalet where we are staying for the next few days.
