Gorgeous

Managed to get up early and sort the last few things at home and still set off just after 7.30am for the drive south. I started in cloud but it gradually brightened up and by the time I arrived at S’s in Nottingham (annoyingly delayed by about 20mins by a closed road just before arriving) the day was beautifully warm and sunny. The MK book group turn out was somewhat depleted for various reasons but LH, K, S and I passed a lovely few hours revelling in our first outdoor meal of the year, chatting about all sorts and eating the delicious summery food (quiche and salads followed by a huge trifle). So lovely….
We moved the table to avoid sitting in direct sun, but couldn’t face leaving since we were enjoying the warmth and the lovely garden too much (and were too full to move!). Eventually left about 6pm and once we arrived at K’s she and I collapsed on the sofas, still feeling very full but having had a lovely day. Feels like maybe summer is on the way!
