Strong Women

In the UK there are more public statues of men named John than there are of women.

I have always been a fan of public art that adds something to an area, even better when it involves local people like this mosaic by Carrie Reichardt has.
It’s quite touching up close (see extra) and a wonderful quotation (Ada Lovelace).

The only thing I do have doubts about is putting a mosaic about strong women on a Conservative Club. Their track record of women like Truss & Thatcher isnt the most inspiring. Mind you the men have arguably been worse.

Despite that it’s a great piece of work and it makes me happy that it was created.
