Marina di Pietrasanta
Back blip
A day at leisure; so we walked to the Marina where there was a big Farmers' Market on the go. Before we looked at the stalls, we had some coffee, and walked out on the pier, which is very long, and had a seat on a bench looking at the Mediterranian....very enjoyable, watching the fishermen, although their catch was of a fish unknown to me. And saw the little sparrow being hand fed! A lady took a shot of us beside the sea sculpture of S.Antonio.
Then we walked back over to the market and did a bit of shopping. There was a lovely lady selling lavender sachets and all kinds of things made with lavender. She spoke no English at all, but we managed a conversation in sign language. She and her husband had a lavender farm (she showed me pictures) and with their three sons they ran it and she made all the goods to sell at market. I bought some of course, and later on came back for more.
Our last evening in the hotel, and we all got together and had good chat. It has been a really nice group of people, which makes the holiday even better.
