HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

It Worked!! Today's experiment was to try the "Fireworks Show" function on my camera. It's interesting how long the shutter stays open to take just one shot. Once I caught on that I had to stay as still as possible that whole time, I got some decent pictures - although, as you're taking it, there's no way to know exactly what will be in the picture. If I 'took' the shot when I'd see the next fireworks shoot up, then it would include that display when it burst as well as maybe one or two more.

Dad and I went downtown and stood on the Saginaw St. bridge by Riverfront Park where the 4th of July fireworks display was held. He is ready and willing to pitch in when there's a Blip challenge. We had a fun time! The show didn't start until 10 p.m., then when it was over, there was so much traffic leaving the area that it took forever to get back home. I figured I had about 45 minutes to decide which shot to use, to write this and get it posted on Blip before midnight. Made it - Whew!!
