The Killing Fields

Awake at around 5.30, so made the strategic decision to get up and plan my week. I crept down to the back deck, made some coffee, and started brainstorming (if you can brainstorm by yourself) all the things I needed to do in the next week or so. An hour later, I was still writing. It covered three sheets of A4. Ahem. The things you do when you procrastinate.

Anyway, I scheduled in meetings and sketched out emails for a few hours, and then settled down, face behind hands, to watch Liverpool play Spurs. As it happened, we played more like the Liverpool of last month than of last week – with the exception of a wobbly 10 minutes or so – and won at a canter.

Then spent the rest of the day working with Ottawacker Jr on his French presentations (“les systèmes du corps”), made dinner, and read some more of The Graveyard Book to Ottawacker Jr. Speaking of which, I couldn’t help but notice the stairs up from the basement resemble the killing fields: we have a tolerated spider, who has clearly gone psycho. Not sure whether any guests will be safe down there…
