Wildflower Walk

J's current art challenge is to observe and record plants and flowers in any medium. This suits me very well, as it's a good reason for her to go for slow walks around the village, looking, naming and photographing (which is my job) what she sees. It was a damp and overcast Saturday, but just a short walk along the road provided lots of variety - we noted about twenty wildflowers before rushing back home as the rain  arrived. Earlier in the month yellow was the dominant colour, but at present there are lots of white flowers, with the delicate Queen Anne's Lace now opening, lots of Jack by the Hedge, stitchwort and a liberal sprinkling of daisies on all the roadside verges. So far she has completed just one painting, watercolour primroses, with her PA, but we're still hoping for a bright, still day to try some garden weed cyanotypes.
