 Our travel agent urged: ” Make that phone call . You have nothing to loose. And it might be the best phone call you  make for or a long time and saves you hundreds of pounds.”

Well, I am dubious. My experience of special offers is that they often contain a catch only revealed at the last minute.

Anyway, M made the phone call to Air Miles. Maybe all those accumulated points over the years would solve our current problem- getting return tickets to Italy for a niece ‘s wedding that didn’t involve overnight stays in London, change of airports either in Frankfurt, Paris , Amsterdam, or dawn flights plus plenty of  leg room for M ( 6ft2in) . 

We couldn’t believe our luck – we had enough Air Miles points for two return flights to Italy with British Airways business class and all we had to pay was £34. 

It ticked all our boxes - thanks to that phone call.
