Dante on Duty

Dante keeps watch on Via Vittorio Veneto from his perch above a storefront. So many old shop signs in Lucca, the current store residents very rarely match the storefront signs. Dante Stationary shop is now Silvia Cosci’s fashion shop. All over town…a butchershop is now a gelateria; a bookstore, a man’s clothing store; a profumery, a grocery. Everything changes, but the old signs are an artistic reminder of the past.
