Farewell

To maths
Emotional day saying goodbye to my last two maths students. Exam is on Friday They both started low (6%) and ended today on a high, J on 87% and A on 84%. What has struck me this time round is the continuing ripples of Covid that all this years students faltered in the same areas, fractions and the basic number line. Minus numbers a particular gap in everyone’s head which does indicate round about first year when these were being taught, COVID zoom calls didn’t really work.

Funny day weatherwise alternated with thick haar, glorious hot sunshine to bleak midwinter. Watching my seedlings like a hawk.
