Cookie mail

The postman brought us a lovely surprise this morning, some fresh cookies from Gilly ! We are bonkers in this family and send food up and down the country, but it does make for some great mail deliveries.
Then the sun came out and warmed up to 20C, and I finally got to give the beehives a good check. Two of the colonies are looking strong but the third only has a few frames of brood. None of them have any quantity of stores so I have left their fondant blocks on for them. Hopefully the weather will stay better and they will get going.
Then we had a walk round the new Park Wood walk, and saw plenty of Orange Tips and Peacocks, and a few bumblebees. Best of all there was a cuckoo, and several singing Garden Warblers. It felt like a good afternoon for tea in the garden but as we drove home the clouds rolled in. Surprise!
