Carol's ramblings

Touring day …..

Today, as it was planned to be a good day, went for a tour around the island.  Hubby very happy as we had the roof down due to the lovely weather (around 15 degrees!).

Started at The Needles (didn’t go down on the chairlift and due to erosion the steps down to the beach is shut).  Spent time people watching a teacher (with other teachers) navigate their group of yr 6 children on, in pairs, to the chairlift.  Those that were under height restriction had to go with a teacher.  The children were all very well behaved and the teacher looked in full control (although probably like a swan inside).   Whilst here we filled an item with coloured sand and watched the glass blowing.

Stopped off at Blackgang Chine (not open until tomorrow), as part of our memory tour.  Then on to Ventor, then Shanklin.  Stopped for lunch and a walk along the esplanade.  We then wanted to go to Sandown but struggled so ended up stopping at Brading for an ice cream.  Finally on to Yarmouth, watched the WightLink ferry load and take off to Lymington.

A lovely warm day, overcast as we got back to the holiday village.

(Extra collage of the variety of visits, plus beautiful tulip on display at the holiday village).
