Cliveden
As a member, we usually get a gift visit for 2 adults and up to 4 children to enter a National Trust property on a day the members attend. The offer had to be used by today so our daughter and family to come along.
Visited a local NT, Cliveden, in Berkshire. The house is a hotel now, so not able to go in but the grounds and gardens are lovely. The tulip display in the parterre (see extra) was fab. The wonky tree made me think of the sorting hat in Harry Potter.
Caleb and Austin enjoyed running around, we walked down by the river Thames but as we all know any down slopes result in an incline eventually - some were quite steep.
We stopped for a lunch break, sat outside as it was quite warm. We then tackled the maze (fortunately we had a map, so able to get in/out with ease - the boys were quite tired by this time and a little grumpy). An ice cream soon solved the problem.
