Breakfast of champions

My lovely friends threw a surprise birthday party for me yesterday (very surprising as it wasn’t my birthday, that was weeks ago). Supposedly just meeting up to show a friend my holiday photos and instead was ambushed by a bunch of people singing happy birthday.

We had a fabulous lunch, cocktails, laughter, two birthday cakes, great presents and much chat. Finished off with making a dent in a bottle of Brennivin that we had brought back from Iceland. Delicious but dangerous!

This morning we enjoyed some of the coffee and walnut birthday cake for breakfast. I’m hoping this birthday carries on for a while yet.
