Seville Day Three
This morning JR and I decided to go round on the bus again (we had a 2 day pass) and get off in the old town. But we had a bonus hop off at the Basilica de la Macarena - most impressive.
Then we stopped off for a coffee and sent our location to Hazel, who had been topping up her tan (on one arm) in the sun in a cafe, while updating her Instagram.
We went back to the same cafe for lunch. I thought the others were going shopping, so I wandered back to the hotel via the gelateria. But they did not go shopping - they sent a video from what must be one of the best roof top bars, right next to the cathedral.
In the evening we decided to pop back to the Plaza d’España. We used our bus ticket to get back there just as the sun set on the building. Fantastic! It was empty of the day’s crowds, and I was concerned to see only one horse and carriage - there were dozens of them during the day. I didn’t fancy walking back, so I booked it there and then, and said I’d be back in ten minutes and went off to find the others.
What a treat that was. We clip-clopped all the way round the park, past all the wonderful buildings, many of them consulates. The driver gave us a running commentary (in Spanish…) We came past the cathedral and through the wee narrow streets. The horse has a day off tomorrow. One day on, one day off.
Hazel and I are still disoriented, and haven’t a clue which direction to go in, thank goodness for GPS. But JR is amazing, she just knows. What a skill!
Busy day tomorrow.
My step count is still in a panic - but must be over 10,000…
