Brocante
I love how the word has entered English. It has come to mean something quite specific - thus a picturesque French outdoor antique so comprising me paying far too much for an old galvanised dustbin. This was at the Grange in beautiful parkland near Alresford and we drove there through hazy green as almost all the trees are in some kind of leaf. If not full leaf.
We were going to see a jeweller friend who had a stall there, she goes to India annually and has lovely earrings made locally and sells them back here at quite low cost.
It was cold though so I also bought a woollen gilet to keep warm as we wandered through the stalls
Lunch at the Long Barn which was busy, i bought some splashy blue petunias at the garden centre. Then the rain really set in and we dropped down to see Mum for a cup of tea and some cake we’d brought with us
Home for leftovers and another episode of Ripley.
