Farewell Madeira!

All good things must come to an end as they say, so today we left Madeira, returning to England for a final weekend with Roger’s family, before flying back to the US on Tuesday. We arrived at the airport in good time, and had time to spend a bit of time on their outdoor balcony, watching the planes arrive, including ours, in the background of the lower left photo. The right hand aerial view shows us crossing coast near Bootle.
In the evening, Janet and John took us and Bernard out for dinner at a very nice French restaurant in the attractive village of Lymm - I think it was their way of thanking us for being here to watch over Bernard, while they were away in the Isle of Man the week after Easter, though it’s the least we can do since Janet is chief caregiver the rest of the year. It was an excellent meal for us, but it made for a long evening for Bernard.
