Monasterio del Puig

In my endeavour to do new things and visit new places, I set off to El Puig today, a nearby town with a pretty spectacular monastery.
I climbed up the local hill (great views) and enjoyed a 3-course lunch with wine for only 9 euros. I even made a friend on the monastery tour. He’s an elderly Irish chap who now lives with his wife in Gandia (nearby town). I’ve arranged to visit them there next week. He also told me about a 3 month train pass that you can buy for only 10 euros and use anywhere in the Valencia region at any time and on any day. I wish I’d known about it sooner as we could have saved a fortune on train travel!
The cafés and bars are busy in Valencia tonight.
