Diary of an Edinburgher

Seville Day One

Archie was VERY suspicious this morning at 5am. ‘Why are they both up?’ Normally he snoozes until he hears JR putting her jacket on, then hops off the bed to go for a walk.

A stress free amble through bag drop off and security, though, yes, I had to take my shoes off and be frisked. We had a delicious pottle of Bircher muesli at Pret. The airport has been expanded a LOT, and it’s pretty good.

Our hotel is super, right in the centre. All the room doors are painted with full size people. Presume they’re saints. There is an explanatory notice about them all, I may stop and read it some time.

After a wee rest we set off for a stroll. I forgot my stick, but thought I could do without it, after all, we weren’t intending going too far…

But we did! Over the river to the bar/restaurant that we remembered from our last visit. Fully booked. So I suggested we walk along the river and back over the next bridge. Big mistake - it was miles!!

We eventually stopped in a nice wee bar though it had the obligatory oxen limbs hanging on hooks. The other two had snacks, neither of which bore any resemblance to what was expected from the menu description… They’re more adventurous than I am!

HOHO bus tomorrow, so not so much walking. 11,345 steps today is a bit too much.
