Roll With It

This is the base of a Lawson Cypress tree from the weekend, the additional shows what it looks like from a distance, there’s two side by side.
Ducking in under the branches to look it was quite gloomy and initially I thought it looked a bit “Magic Woods” but as I adjusted to the light it looked amazing.
The van has been unloaded, the post camping laundry fairy is on the case and we return to normal.

As good as the weekend was a visit to the dentist today brought us back to earth with a bump.
I’m not a political animal but some of the ‘free’ services we were used to are now so expensive they are breathtaking. With no NHS dentists, not just in Falmouth but anywhere, I had no option but to sign on with my dental practise which is now private.
Staffed by third year dental students who are supervised by a qualified dentist I was informed that I needed better treatment than they could provide, I was referred to a ‘specialist’ in Truro.
The initial consultation today came in at £120, around £20 per minute I, the treatment required with an earliest available appointment in two months needs 50% paid upfront, I came away £540 lighter.

How do people afford dental treatment in modern Britain?
