Spring Camp

Early up and away, Sam staying home to “Paddy Sit”, Mrs S and I off to Dartmoor for Spring Camp and Josh heading back after a long weekend at home.
Whilst Mrs S drove the van I went with Josh to our breakfast stop, full English for the three of us, small ones though. Josh then set of north to Blackpool, Mrs S and I south across Dartmoor.
The sun shone and as you feel the warmth so your spirits lift, just the three vans this year, ours, Mark, Mrs S’s brother and Paul, friend. We arrived and set up around the day shelter, much more hospitable set up. Everything erected, pegged, powered and ready before we sat and enjoyed the sunshine.
This time last year was ‘Toegate’ when Mark was hurt, quite badly, and the weekend didn’t go quite as planned.
No such worries this year, as the day wore on we gathered our two pint steins and headed to the entertainment. Numbers were down but that didn’t detract from the evening, good company, good food, good beer - that’s all you really need.
There’s something about falling asleep in the van, looking out of the rear window at the stars, not much light pollution enhances the view, peace and quiet, I’ll sleep well tonight.
