Stitchwort
After J's Saturday brunch I took my macro lens to the bluebell wood: it was less windy than it's been for most of the week, and there was sunlight between the clouds, so I hoped to succeed in framing bluebells in close-up; but by the time I reached the wood, a thicker bank of cloud had obscured the sun and the light under the increasingly green trees was too low for hand-held macro. Fortunately the sun did shine on the stitchwort in the verges of the lane, though the tangled flowers weren't easy to frame, and it's one of my favourite wild flowers, dainty and unassuming but so pretty with the sun on its bright stamens and pintucked petals.
