A blue world to the north

Another beautiful day! Another beautiful view from my morning walk, with the islands of Rum, Muck, Skye and Eigg (looking from left to right) all appearing in different shades of blue. Unfortunately, this lovely weather is also bringing out the ticks which attach themselves to Bertie’s flowing coat as he brushes through the grass and heather. I pick them off as soon as I see them but more always appear from the depths of his fur during the day. I heard another cuckoo this morning amongst the beautiful softer tweeting of many other birds.
