Yellow and blue
The sun may be shining but that NE wind was still icy cold today. I packed up this morning, did some cleaning so the house is left smelling clean and fresh, and then we went for a walk at Holkham. We decided to avoid walking on the beach as it was too windy and cold but instead walked on the path behind the beach that is sheltered from the wind coming off the sea by the forest. We heard many birds like goldcrest and meadow pipit (according to Merlin) but did not see them. I did see a greylag goose on her nest which I haven't seen before.
After our walk we went home to drop Xena off and then went to lunch at The Orange Tree in Thornham, which always serves a good meal. On the way back from lunch I stopped off to photograph the rapeseed fields, they make a lovely show of colour in the sunshine and you can see the sea beyond them.
We are now back home again, Tommy had a good weekend at home and yesterday Luke and Meriel came home for the day so he spent the day with them.
I have a busy week ahead, mainly social things and tomorrow will be particularly busy.
