Folkestone Harbour
The family start arriving from Scotland tomorrow and Monday and I have a turn on the Railway tomorrow so today was our last free day for a week or so.
Folkestone was our destination. My it was cold and threatened rain at first. Brightened up later turning out to be reasonably pleasant out of the wind. We returned to the British Lion pub on The Bayle for a second helping of their boozy beef and mushroom stew (no pastry) with plenty of vegetables and potatoes. Just as good as last time.
Shortly afterwards we called in at Steep Street cafe on the Old High Street for what is always one of the best coffees to be had anywhere. A turn around the Harbour Arm and the Boardwalk rounded off the afternoon.
This evening we saw Feast of Fiddles for the nth time. They never fail to put on a brilliant show. Tonight was as good as it gets. We had front row seats owing to knowing the promoter who is also the wife of one of the band members.
A different Saturday to the usual. And enjoyable for that.
