Today's the day ....................... to celebrate

I've had just the best birthday!

We meandered home from our overnight stay in Cally Palace just in time to greet the arrival of these two.  They were actually on their way to spend a week in Ireland - but had left home a day early so that they could help me celebrate my birthday.

John and Issy were our neighbours when we lived in Eskbank, near Dalkeith, back in the 1980s.  We eventually left to go our separate ways with our growing families - but we've always kept in touch and managed to meet up now and then.  We had lots of fun with them back then and things haven't changed despite the passing of the years.

The above is the glass of fizz that we had in the summerhouse before we all went out for a superb meal at Mr Pooks in Castle Douglas ......................
