Sally Mair - Loving life

Mummy time

Ali and the girls came over this morning to drop a couple of things off for the sale I'm helping at tomorrow in Polwarth Church, 11-1pm. It's a sale of children's toys, clothes and equipment the proceeds going to Drake Music Scotland, a charity which provides opportunities and funding for children who might not otherwise be able to make and access music on their own. It's a nearly new type sale so items are priced by their owners and unsold items reclaimed at the end of the sale. 10% of the proceeds go to the charity. The sales have been running for over 15 years and makes a lot of money for the chosen charity.
I spent from 3-8pm today pricing up donated items and helping set up. The extra shows the church before the goods arrived. It looked very different by the time I left , the tables were all brim full with items on the floor too. There are two other rooms full of clothing items and a large area outside of bikes, scooters and outdoor toys. Many of the items are brand new, and the prices range from £300 for a 3 piece buggy set up, to 20p for a book - with everything in between. There are some amazing bargains. I'm helping for part of the sale tomorrow so do pop in if you are passing. It's a very good cause and the team running things deserve support.
The church is worth a look too, it's right by the canal at Harrison Road and has a labyrinth on the floor and some pretty stained glass
