The fanouz lanterns for Ramadan

Back blip

We're still basically grounded, apart from going to school and back by taxi. Things seem to be heating up and demonstrations are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday and Mursi's opposers are now saying he has 48 hours to stand down. The army's on stand by to take over to avoid the country descending into chaos. No idea what the next few days will bring. We get lots of security messages cascaded from the BC, with updates on which roads and bridges are blocked and where demonstrations are.

My blip today's a 'fanouz' lantern, which are used to decorate the streets during Ramadan and are starting to appear everywhere. This one is one of many, which are now hanging round the pool area of the hotel across from our flat, where we sometimes have a coffee and bite to eat.
