Roll With It

An Artist

Henry Scott Tuke was an impressionist artist who settled at Swanpool and bought a fishing boat for £40, the ‘Julie of Nantes', converted it into a floating studio and living quarters. He then rented two rooms in Pennance Cottage, situated between Pennance Point and Swanpool Beach.
In later life Tuke was in poor health and died in Falmouth in 1929 and was buried in Falmouth cemetery close to his home.
Elton John is a lover and collector of Tuke’s works

Tuke has a link to Falmouth Rugby Club through Edward John Jackett (1878-1935) a Falmouth, England international and British Lions rugby player who in his youth was one of Tuke’s early models.

His grave in the corner of Falmouth Cemetery is often overlooked, I see it when I visit the memorial to the two Wallace brothers who died in WWI.

Otherwise a pretty busy day, I fitted a new hot air hand dryer in the gents at the rugby club as well as twenty-six coat hooks in the changing room.
Early afternoon was my pedicure before arriving home to find son Joshua settled in the lounge.
He has a weeks leave which he is spending with us, brilliant news.
