La belle France, enfin! - Jour 3

Sainte Foy la Grande, the oldest of the gironde bastides, founded in 1255

Another stunning April day of blue skies and sunshine, reaching 29 degrees this afternoon.

Headed east along the Dordogne to SFlG this morning for the market, one of the largest and busiest in the area. After picking up a few bits and pieces we joined the crowds at one of the bars under the arcades for a lunchtime drink, and made up a sandwich with food brought from the market; everyone was doing the same. Returning to the car that was parked in the sun, the temperature registered as 38 degrees!

On the way home we stopped at a couple of brocantes, where I picked up a couple of little glasses and perfume bottles to add to my collection. After some down time in the garden, headed out early evening to the village bar for aperitifs but sadly it was shut so bought a bottle of Bergerac rosé and returned home where MH prepared a Spring Garlic omelette accompanied by crudités, including Spring Asparagus and Black Radish, all new tastes for me.

In extras, scenes from Sainte Foy la Grande and the brocante where I bought the perfume bottles, I’ll let you choose your own favourite.

Thank you so much for all your kind comments, stars and hearts. Will do my best to sprinkle stars etc when I have the chance.
