Hanging on

There are still lots of leaves on our beech trees. Even through all the wind they have hung on. But between the leaves one can see all the buds holding leaves and maybe flowers, protecting them with layers of scales. Soon they will begin to open. Apparently they are only at budburst stage when there is green showing - we are not quite there yet.
