Friday Walk

It has been a long time since my friend Isa and I went for a walk. Today we met in the village of Espenschied in the Taunus hills, and walked to the river Wisper and back -  a 10 km round trip with about 300 m difference in altitude. It was lovely to walk through the light green forest and fields. We saw deer, lots of lizards and birds, and beautiful wild flowers. Some of them are in the extra collage, plus some friendly sheep.

After two and a half hours of walking, we arrived back in the village just in time for an early dinner at the local restaurant, or so we thought. But they didn’t have a table for us, they said. All other restaurants in the area were closed (most of them permanently, because they lost their personnel during the Covid lockdown, and now can’t afford to hire them again). So we both drove home, and will go for a meal some other time.
