Dear Green Place 26 - Linn Park
Lovely hot sunny day and I left the house in my winter boots this morning...
A trip to the south side for a walk through the woods along the White Cart Water at Linn Park. The park is named after the old Scots word for waterfall, linn. The halfpenny bridge just up the river from here is the oldest cast iron bridge in Glasgow.
Today the park was full of kids playing in the river. I guess school's oot for the summer.
There used to be a castle in the park grounds -- Cathcart Castle -- and guess what, it's thought that Mary Queen of Scots once stayed there.
