"did it my way"

After an amazing day for Northern Ireland yesterday, this was one of the headlines in the newspaper at work today. So OK, the security was a little OTT, but it is N.Ireland - no matter how many steps forward we may have taken, there are always going to be some people who will want to drag us back and for that reason security still needs to have a strong presence for such a high profile event with such big names of the world involved.

Excessive security or not, as the G8 comes to a close, I am so proud of my little part of the world for showing itself off in all its beauty! And for once the sun shone for 2 consecutive days in Fermanagh, especially for the occasion to help!

The world came to Fermanagh, the world watched Fermanagh, and as quick as the world arrived, it left again - maybe one day to return....

We did the G8 summit our way and what an experience these 48hrs have been!
