Moving day
Great timing on our walk on the dike today; the Sandhill Cranes were departing to the North! They fill the sky, high up, circling, their gravelly calls reaching far. I can only imagine what this entails: "Is this group going to Homer? No? We'll wait for the next one." More circling.... then eventually they make a vee and head North. Delighted to experience that!
In the extras some other vocals: Red-winged Blackbird sharing a treetop and singing with a Hummingbird, a Song Sparrow, and a Yellow-rumped Warbler.
