60 Minutes
There is increasing interest among around a quarter of the Epic membership in ‘The Great River Race’.
Those who follow my Blip will know that I took part and completed the race last year. It’s three hours rowing from Millwall Slip in the west to Ham in the east, taken with the pre start positioning it’s around four hours rowing.
On the water today I was coxing, we set off from Ponsharden and on reaching Flushing Yacht Club I asked the rowers what they wanted to do as training.
The result; 60 minutes continuous rowing at the GRR pace so that’s what we did. It also gave me the opportunity as cox to practise some manoeuvring in confined waters.
Places in the two crews remain up for grabs, the strongest rowers of those who train regularly will be selected.
Fingers crossed.
