Reflection

Woke up early and carried on spinning today, couldn't resist weaving a little too, just to check how it looks you understand. Been playing with making fancy yarns with wraps, knops and beads to give the weaving a bit of texture, also using floats within the weaving to add some texture and lines too.

All my woven pieces recently have been inspired by my photos, this one is called Reflection and is inspired by this shot. The emphasis is on blues with a touch of sparkle and lots of clouds.

I'll be taking my loom to Carradale as the forecast isn't great, I've also packed some yarn for the next piece which I haven't actually photographed yet, it will be called coastline in shades of grey, green and brown and might feel a bit like this.

I'm looking forward to time away with the family as my brother and his boys will also be there. I'll have plenty of time to play with my new camera and might learn a thing or two from uncle Al.
