Solace Day 5
Wanting to moor out in the countryside we pushed on to get through the locks at Fradley Junction. Soon after the junction you enter the devastation created by HS2. There is a swath cut through woods like those in the blip, nearly 300m wide left as just bare earth. Obviously we cruised on past that.
Round the corner we came to a place we have moored before. Previously the banks were short grass with a single person width path along the canal side. For reasons best known to themselves the Canal and River Trust (CRT) are laying miles of this (in my opinion) awful hard path. Sensible in areas where there is a lot of footfall here there isn't. uring the time we were there (late afternoon until nearly mid morning) a single person passed us.
After we had tied up i realised I had taken no photos that day so I wandered off and took a few shots. Rather than a shot of Solace in situ this is a shot looking away from the boat and away from Fradley. A stretch of canal straight for this distance is fairly rare.
