Surfing

It’s been a day of heavy downpours, with a cold northerly wind. In between the rain there has been some much welcome sunshine. It has however been a day to time any outdoor activities carefully.

The wind surfers were delighted with the windy conditions and high tide this morning. There were also people on wing surfs - small foiling surf boards with a handheld sail (held overhead rather than being attached to the board). It looks difficult and very hard work.

After admiring their talents and their hardiness, we stopped at the bakery for a pastie and sat in the rain over looking the boats in the quayside.

I had other plans for outdoor activities but instead lingered in the sofa in front of the fire before walking Merlin late this afternoon. It’s stew for dinner which feels rather appropriate!

Grateful:
- To have a hot shower this morning - it felt most luxurious.
- To walk in the sunshine this afternoon and not get soaked.
