Arthur and I made paper decorations and wrote wishes to hang on the tree branch at the Fukuo Jinja in honour of Tanabata Day which is next Sunday. Here is a link for a good outline of the Tanabata Story. We spent a lovely afternoon swimming in the outdoor pool, no magpies required.
