Ho Chi Min Tunnelling

We had to get up early than we wanted this morning as we were being thrown out of our hostel.( they were busy) Had my muesli and yoghurt! Found one very close. Got an average room with 4 beds and a balcony as we were at the top. However there were masses of mossys in the room. We had brunch in Sozo. I had a bagel with cream cheese and bacon. Rushed back to our hostels and grabbed our poncho (waterproofs) for tunnelling. The bus took 1 hour and a half to get there. A couple of us in the group went down into the original tunnel. It was so small and you had to crawl along. The guide man (who had survived the war there) told us that don't go down if you don't like cockroaches, bats and weird bugs! He told us so much history and showed us all the bobbie traps that were used in the war. He showed us how they all worked which makes you squirm a little. He showed us the one that he had got his leg caught in and told us the story. When it happened he called over his friend and he got caught in a different one right next to him that killed him in 10 seconds as spikes went right through his rib cage. The traps were all really close together so when they asked for help more people would get caught. So the guy shouted to his friends to stay away and he cut half of his leg off to escape.
We then went in a different tunnel that they had restored and so people could walk in it.
In the evening we went out for supper on a roof top bar. It was funny as we could see the guys opposite in a different roof top bar eating as well. Wrote my postcards quickly so I actually send them as I had bought the stamps in Hanoi. My phone stopped working and it then said I had to plug it into iTunes which was worrying. Asked the man downstairs if I could plug my phone into his computer. Luckily it somehow came up with mine and we fixed it. Katie was so helpful.
We had drinks at the same place as the evening before. Was rather strange as we were chatting to 3 teachers who teach English out here.
Katie and I went and got a pretzel and sausage again. When we came back more teachers had arrived. There was a guy that kept looking over at me. I came over and we finally figured out that we had me in Pai. Annie and I chatted to them and went out.
