Mysterious Standing Stone
A cloudy morning, but it soon cleared into a sunny day. Warm in the sunshine. Breezy to calm, with a breeze picking up tonight.
Up early, washing out after breakfast, then headed out walkies with Sammy. Headed down to mam's in the late morning, we also popped by Laura's for a cuppa. Headed out west for more walkies in the sunshine. Working in the shop this evening, as usual, it was busy with customers. Last walkies of the day, now feet up.
After a walk around the cliffs at Silwick, I headed to the neighbouring village for a walk. I've passed this standing stone many times, but never stopped to actually look at it. It was dug up by a local crofter, I assume in recent years and erected here. There's lots of history in the area, the croft here is also called Brough, so a possibility it could have been used for something similar in it's past. Whatever it's been, it makes a great feature in the village. Taken at Wester Skeld.
