First day of Spring

Spring begins today and the weather was very springlike, it was mild, the birds were singing and here is my first tulip.  Spring to me is light and growth after the winter months.

My niece J and X called in this morning on their way back to Bristol.  They had been staying in the shepherd's hut, so good to see them.

Had a go at ripping the ivy off the house which has been looking as if it has lost the battle with nature!  Last year was good for ivy and brambles and old man's beard.  Weeds grow overnight here however much gardening has taken place. 

Made an apple crumble for supper.
