A SEAT AT THE DINER
Today this bee was collecting pollen from hosta flowers. To me, this particular shot looks like the stamen created a seat for the bee to sit on while she ate. :-)
I also saw an interesting bug that I've never seen before. It's head and legs are like a wasp, but it doesn't have any wings. The body reminds me somewhat of a beetle. The interesting part is the tail end - looks like a lobster claw that could do serious damage! Also, it appears to have two dots on its rear that would seem like eyes (a face) if you were facing the other end. Perhaps that is camouflage so you don't know whether it's coming or going. (It's about an inch long.) Any idea what kind of bug this is?
