Chicago L transit
The Chicago transit system was built in elevated railways about the streets.
The phrase "keep me in the loop" is derived from the Loop of the elevated railways around the central business district. Being in the loop was being where it was all going on.
The "L" was built by the famous investor Yerkes who later built major parts of the London Underground.
