Crookston Castle

An interesting morning in a part of the Southside I don’t know that well. I wanted to do a pre recce walk on my own before the actual recce next week with C who is an expert on Mary Queen of Scots. Useful to discover a riverside path from Mosspark train station to the Castle via Rosshall Park. This was pointed out to me by a dog walker who advised me to go to Pollok Park instead.
I can’t help thinking that some of the Mary Queen of Scots links are a bit tenuous, I don’t suppose folk will mind, the various parks are delightful. The link with Crookston Castle are Darnley Stewarts of which one was the second husband of MQoS.
