The Magic Of Magnolia, Great Comp, Platt

We paid a quick visit to Great Comp Garden today. Even though it was overcast and slightly on the chilly side it was wonderful to see all the beautiful flowering magnolia trees in all their many colours (see extra as well). I was particularly struck by the purple magnolia in the main image and how it contrasted against the bare trees behind. It felt a bit as if spring and winter were sharing the same space.
