High Wheeldon
Drove to Longnor and then did a 6.8 mile walk including this top at 422m (1388 ft) it was the highest point on our trip so far. Despite some respectable gradients and the fact it hasn't rained since Saturday the paths are disgusting. Deep mud, really slippery and very hard going.
We were on the last mile and thinking we were OK when the path turned into 6 inch deep liquid mud. The gov took a slide and managed to avoid sitting in it by doing a very athletic pike with half twist and salko landing on one knee and two hands. She was alright and I hosed her down when we got back! No not really, I cleaned the boots and poles, she washed the walking trousers.
The extras are the view from the top of High Wheeldon and Parkhouse Hill (right) and Chrome Hill (left, otherwise known as the Dragon's Back and Dragon's Head.
