happy St. Pat day

This is Samuel with his good friend David. David gives him special treats. David is awesome. Sometimes Samuel stands outside David's house and tries to will him to show up, until I get bored and insist we go. 

There is a third fox coming around. The theory is that the third fox is helping the fox WHO WAS PREGNANT. Maybe at some point we'll see little foxes. 

Tree blossoms are blooming. My bleeding hearts are starting to bud. I have a couple of bluebells beginning to bloom. There are buds on my trees. It is going to be beautiful. 

60 Minutes has a piece on Mountain Seed Foundation which brought Ukrainian widows and their children to Austria and taught them to climb mountains. 

Ukraine launched new attacks on Russia today. Russia brags about all the drones it shot down but a drone fell on a refinery in the Krasnodar region, sparking a blaze that took hours to extinguish. The fire caused no casualties. Long range Ukrainian drones have hit 12 Russian oil refineries during the war so far.


There is a new battalion of Russians fighting for Ukraine. The Siberian Battalion joined two other Russian-comprised battalions this week to launch multiple incursions into Russia. The Siberian Battalion is made up of ethnic minority populations from republics in Siberia and includes Yakuts, Buryats, Tuvans, and Kalmyks. They joined because they are against Russia's invasion of Ukraine and they are tired of being mistreated. It sounds like some of these groups have tanks. 


Executives at the Russian oil company Lukoil keep dying.


A Russian teacher kept protesting the war, quietly, without getting caught, until she was arrested for wearing Ukrainian colors. She was given a court date. The legal group helping her suggested she take a three week trip immediately. One teacher gave her 50,000 rubles, the equivalent of $500, when he realized she was leaving. She is in Armenia now. She doesn't regret protesting, she regrets that she didn't do more.
