Shades of my day

Today, I've headed back to Edinburgh (starting in lovely weather in Inverness and gradually getting worse as two of the pictures in the collage show), with a view to getting the sleeper (in a couple of hours) down to London. The sleeper was arranged ages ago, long before recent troubles. Of course, I expected to be at home today, not in Tain this morning. Anyway, I had things to do after getting off the train. I went for lunch at the Fruitmarket, and then across the road to look at the exhibition of Scottish landscapes (which is where I saw the Jon Schueler which appears in the collage), and then I had to go shopping. I cannot do my work this week in leggings, and that's all I have in terms of what I left the house with, and what was in Tain.... So I managed to get myself a pair of trousers (in the sale), two tops and a shopping bag to cart my stuff around in, all from Seasalt. That's the last (well the first) of the images in the collage.

After all of that, including stopping for a coffee to perk me up on George Street, I headed down the hill to roost for the evening with la famille hazelh (hazelh, Mr hazelh and Mummy hazelh), who have all welcomed me very warmly (and continue so to do). We enjoyed a delicious family tea of salmon, couscous and broccoli, followed by lemon meringue pie. In a bit, I will walk back up to Waverley and hope that my journey to London is smooth.

No further news from further down the road. Some photographs of how it is now have appeared on our building website. I dispatched them up to Mr A. It's a bit shocking. But I'm hopeful that our end of the building might get opened up in the next couple of days, before I'm back in Edinburgh. Let's see. Patience seems essential.
